Urban Style Journal

Write for us

Urban Style Journal welcomes well-defined pitches about the visual character of city streets and shared places. Send proposals through the Contact page; a concise note is enough to begin.

Topics that fit

We are interested in street graphics, shopfronts, public objects, public art and urban materials. Strong proposals focus on one clear question or visual idea and explain why it matters to a curious general reader. Comparative, explanatory, historical and close-looking approaches can all work when the scope is manageable.

What to include

Tell us the proposed subject, the central idea, the likely structure and what makes the piece distinct from familiar treatments. Name any sources or permissions the work would depend on, and disclose relevant commercial interests. A pitch should show the argument and reader value without requiring a finished article.

Our expectations

Submissions should be original, carefully worded and grounded in verifiable information. We do not consider promotional copy disguised as editorial, unsupported claims about a place or designer, or pitches that depend on access the writer does not have. Send proposals through the Contact page and select the editorial option.

Our point of view

A city is read at street level

Small visual choices shape how a place feels and how people find their way through it. We look closely, explain the design language, and leave room for more than one interpretation.
